Background Info

Here's a little bit about myself. My husband and I got married in October 2005. We headed out on a blissful honeymoon in Cancun, Mexico. Unfortunately we ended up in a school-a hurricane shelter. That protected us 6 miles inland from Hurricane Wilma. But I have to say the hotel staff took good care of all of us. We ate chicken and rice for days. Two foods that aren't my favorite. And plenty of fruit. I like pineapple, but don't care for watermelon. So each day I traded out my melon with other folks in the shelter for their pineapple. As for Kevin, my husband, he now knows he doesn't like Papaya. Oh, and one other thing since we are talking about the food. I love apple juice in Mexico. I haven't found anything like it here in the states.
Here's another problem I ran into, I ate some ice in the shelter. Heck, you would've done the same thing. It was hot, and ice was the answer that day. For some reason I just forgot about everyone telling me not to drink the water and blah, blah, blah...Unfortunately my stomach paid the price when we returned to the U.S.A. Thankfully, it only lasted for a few days.
Now if you think staying in a hurricane shelter with 300 folks is bad-our story gets better. Wilma visits our house...
We went on a second honeymoon in December. This time to the mountains in Gatlinburg, TN where there are no hurricanes. The trip was great. But when we got home-that's when we realized no more honeymoons, only trips from here on out. A pipe broke in our new house built in 2005. The pipe broke on the day after we left. So it flooded the house for 3 days, and destroyed everything on the first floor. When I opened the door water poured out on my feet. Here's the reason you pay for home owner's insurance-they covered everything-the reconstruction of the home, the loss on the furniture, everything.
We moved back into the house completely this past week. We love our new home now. One good thing-we can park our cars in the garage now.
And I have to give props to our families for helping us get through all of this turmoil.
Stayed tuned for more....I may decide to get personal again...
