The Month of August
Sorry it has been a while! We've been a bit busy, and August is going to be a busy month as well. I'm going to call it "The Month of Giving and Spiritual Awakening."
Here's why, Kevin and I are going to fundraisers and women's and men's retreats throughout the month. We are pumped about them too.
The month kicks off with NewsChannel 19's Tools for Schools event at the Joe (Joe Davis Stadium) August 1st. That event will fall under fundraisers.
The next weekend it's time for the Miracle Bash on Friday night (one of our favorite events!), this event raises money for the Melissa George Neonatal ICU Fund at Huntsville Hospital. Then Saturday we've got a full day. I'll be volunteering at the Swim for Melissa. It'll be my first event to work as an "Angels For Children at Huntsville Hospital" volunteer. It's a new group I'm excited to be working with.
I'm not done with our Saturday events-that night we'll be returning to the Joe to hear Jeremy Camp in concert and Rick Burgess speak. This falls under the spiritual awakening events! I'm so excited about this event.
Then the next weekend....I'm headed to Birmingham to a women's ministry to listen to Betty Bussey and Sherri Burgess at Shades Mountain Baptist Church. This is going to be a treat. I can not wait to see these Godly women speak. These lovely ladies are the wives of Rick Burgess and Bill "Bubba" Bussey.
Rounding out the month Kevin gets to go to a two day men's retreat at our church, First Baptist Church of Meridianville. That's why we're calling this month a spiritual awakening.
