Litterbug

Some people get road rage-I get litterbug rage.
This weekend as I was riding behind a car on 231/431 North a man threw out a coke can onto the road (it was still full of soda).
I can not believe people throw trash out of their cars onto the street. It only makes our city look bad. So whoever you were in that blue truck, shame on you for being a litterbug.
I almost had to tell him to pull over. Sometimes I even blow the horn at folks who litter. It's just disgusting.
That's my beef for the day. Keep your city clean and don't litter.
On an unrelated note. I got the Taylor Hicks c-d this weekend as a Christmas present from my Dad. I haven't got to listen to all of it just yet, but what I've heard it's great. There is more to come on Taylor in the next few days.

Car Troubles

I had some car troubles over the weekend. Today everything is better. Apparently, the electric thing that moves the passenger seat back and forth was putting a drain on my battery. The problem is fixed. While someone jumped my car off we found another little problem. My tire was going flat. We found a tire's best friend lodged in the tread of the tire, a nail.
So for a brief moment I was styling and profiling with my spare tire. You know spare tires are extremely funny looking to me. You could say I was spinning one steel out of four.
I am happy to say everything is back to normal, and I'm rolling on all fours.

Guest Music Pick From Claire Aiello

I'm doing a guest blog today on Amber's Scoop... my name is Claire Aiello and I'm the web content manager for WHNT.com. I recently bought Keith Urban's new CD, "Love, Pain and the Whole Crazy Thing."
Keith is one of the most talented musicians I've ever seen in concert, and if you've never seen him in concert, don't say "oh, she's just another Keith Urban groupie." Yes, Keith is easy on the eyes -- but he can play the guitar, piano, drums, and is a great entertainer all-around. See him in concert and I think you'll agree with me.
My dad even agrees with me on this, and he's not a fan of country music. He's old-school... likes all sorts of music, like rock, blues, Delbert McClinton, the North Mississippi All Stars, you name it. I'm proud to get my appreciation for different types of music through him.
Back to Urban. This new release is a great addition to his arsenal of music. Some critics may say some of the songs sound similar to those on his previous albums, but that's okay, because 'if it ain't broke...' I was lucky to see Keith live in 2006 when he came to the Von Braun Center in Huntsville. He really works to get the audience involved in the show, and I love the big screens on the side of the stage, where you can just see close-ups of him..
On the CD, my favorite song is "Faster Car" - it starts off like you're listening to a song on the radio, and then the full sound kicks in after the first few lines. It rocks.. the kind of song you pump your fist to, when the band kicks in.
The rest of the songs on the album are great, too. "Once in a Lifetime," the first track -- this line just stays with me... "I close my eyes and see you standing right there... saying 'I do' and them throwing the rice in my hair..."
"Shine" is a nice toe-tapping melody, and "Raise the Barn" is a fun duet with Ronnie Dunn, of Brooks and Dunn.
I know Urban is dealing with some personal issues right now (rehab) but I hope he can work those out. I'm rooting for you, Keith!

Yoga!

An update! This Saturday during class I landed a pose. I stood on my head, headstand. Everyone said wow. I told them, once I stood on my head for 7 minutes. I was in middle school then. This time was only seconds. I was pretty proud of myself. I will soon be able to turn myself into a human pretzel...not. By the way, I did fall down a couple of times during other poses. But I'm hanging in there.

Getting In Shape

Someone asked the question if I'm trying to bulk up or lose weight. The answer is trying to lose weight.
I'm going to the gym at least 3 times a week. I like to go 4 times. What kind of exercises? I'm taking classes offered by the gym. Yoga and Body Pump, that's what my schedule allows. Other than that I like to run the elliptical.
I enjoy the classes because you have people to hold you accountable. I'm having a lot of fun getting in shape. This is not a New Year's resolution, this is a life resolution.
I'll quote one of the instructors, "don't get on the scales everyday checking your weight because it's like watching paint dry." In other words weight doesn't disappear overnight. If it did...um that would be yummy-ice cream everyday.
