Penny Project Update

"Penny Project" is in full swing and rolling. I pitched this idea to my Sunday school class at First Baptist Church in Meridianville at the beginning of the month. Now it's the last day of the month, and we are donating more and more food each week to the "Rose of Sharon Soup Kitchen".

We started out with a bag of food. As you can see from the picture this week Cole and I took several bags of food. I am amazed each week at how much this ministry is growing.
In the other picture, Cole is sitting on the counter of the "Rose of Sharon Soup Kitchen" with owner Sharon Walker and volunteer Debbie Patton.
It's a soup kitchen that feeds the homeless and the needy.
Here's how the "Penny Project" works.
Clip the Publix's Mystery item coupon from Wednesday's newspaper. Then spend $10 to get the mystery item that only costs one pennny. Once you've done that just donate it to the "Penny Project".
Also, if you like the penny item just donate a "Buy One Get One Free Item", or if you don't shop there find a good sale at your favorite store. I'm seeing all kinds of stuff-not just penny items.

Remember though just one penny can feed the homeless.
