Lauren's Cut-A-Thon

Lauren's Cut-A-Thon raised $2,000 for Lauren Gray. What an amazing day for Lauren and her family.
Lauren is such a light of life.

This story started out as a good deed by Lauren's elementary school having a fundraiser for her. Then Fox News radio and television host- Sean Hannity donated $5,000. Now I'm describing Lauren's story as "Pay It Forward."
That's because Libby Huie owner of Beauty Market saw our story on Sean Hannity's good deed and decided to have the Cut-A-Thon for Lauren.
Wow! Go Libby you're awesome!
Libby got restaurants from all over town to donate food, purple balloons (purple is Lauren's favorite color) and signs. What a special day.

So NewsChannel 19 did liveshots at Noon and Six O'clock at the Beauty Market to drive people on down to get their hair cut.
Guess what? It worked! In the picture shown with Lauren and her twin sister Hannah, Pro Bass Fisherman Jason Hall.
Jason said he had just gotten to town when he saw our report and decided to come down and get a haircut and bring the girls t-shirts and hats.
The girls loved it.
Several people came down after seeing the report and said they couldn't think of a better way to spend their time. And had actually had their haircuts cancelled that day!
What a blessing. I'm telling you this story is growing. The family has been able to buy Lauren's special wheelchair that will help her learn how to walk. Now the goal is to buy a new lift van. Then they'll work towards a trust fund for Lauren. Remember, Lauren and Hannah's father Rick has stage four cancer. If you'd like to help go to the link on the left of my blog.
To everyone who helped out yesterday a big thanks from the Gray family.
