semester intern Jennifer is leaving NewsChannel 19 today. She has been wonderful to have around the newsroom. I hope she has learned a lot about the news world.Internships are very important in any field, but especially important in the television world. My advice to anyone choosing a career in T.V. is to have as many internships as possible. It will teach you things you can never learn in a classroom. And actually what you want to do once you get your foot in the door. Whether it be in front of the camera or behind it. It takes several different jobs to get a newscast on the air.
I interned with NewsChannel 19 in the summer of 2000. And fell in love with reporting. But some people fall in love with other aspects of the business. All in all everyday is different in T.V. And that's why I love my job.
