Verdict Watch

It's the third capital murder trial for Daniel Wade Moore in Morgan County. It's the second time I've covered it. So it's the second time I've sat here waiting on a verdict for Moore.
Last year, we sat here for six days waiting on a verdict, then jurors couldn't reach a decision. It was a hung jury 8 to acquit 4 guilty.
The decision came down on the ninth anniversary of the day Karen Tipton was murdered.
Moore is accused of killing Tipton in her Chapel Hill Road home on March 12, 1999.
I've been covering this case for so long now everything is stored in my memory. I can only imagine how everyone involved like family members, attorneys and so one live it each time we have to relive it in this courtroom.
I so hope for the sake of each family sitting in this courtroom that this jury will reach a verdict. These families cannot sit through another trial. These trials are long and painful. Each trial brings out more evidence for both sides that seems to hurt.
All I can say now is we need a verdict. The Tiptons and the Moores can't go through this again.
Now the question is will this jury make it happen?
